A Tale Of Copyright Theft In The Digital Age

(I wanted to post this item yesterday, but a glitch in the system prevented me from doing so.)

Wish I really had something to write about the subject of plagiarism or copyright breach, but it’s about an actual case, an example to all. Back in Comics Should Be Good there is an item about artist Darren Di Lieto whose website’s content was downloaded by an Hong Kong company, which then printed the artwork and articles created by Darren and published them as a book with a 100$ price tag. A really shameful act of looting from an artist and using his creations for benefit without permission.

The company is known as Azur Corporation and the ISBN they are using is fake. The company can’t be contacted.

For more information and updates check the blog of Luc Latulippe, Darren’s friend and the man who brought the story to the public. I’m hoping they will find salvation and a way to get back what belongs to Darren. I’ll update when needed.
